I’m not lost, I’m travelling

This random line arrived out of nowhere, like all good lines, and I felt it needed to stay somewhere, as a reminder.

Life, as we know nowadays, is quite different than even twenty years ago, and most of it is due to the advent of the internet and social media.

While we owe a lot to our ancestors who have spent years making maps while on ships to uncharted territories, whether to travel or to plunder, we, fortunately, have it a lot easier. We just need money, a passport, and a desire to see what’s out there.

Living in probably the safest decade we’ve ever experienced, depending on where you live in the world, and the most connected, we also became more detached from our culture, our country, our identity.
So now we take other identities.
One that I’ve seen flouted around is that of a citizen of the world. Which makes sense in the context of you don’t belong to just one country, but the whole globe, because you relate to many things and don’t necessarily see borders in the way governments have made them.

But getting back to the main line, we’ve all felt lost in life, felt lost in a place we have once called home, and I’m sure it’ll happen again, but maybe we felt lost because we haven’t found the right place and we chose to hold on to things more than we should have.

May you find yourself less lost and more traveled.
