Shape of Water is one of the best love stories around

So, this movie came out about 6 years ago, and I’ve always postponed watching it. Until last night.

Granted, I never took to the trailer, or the marketing much, especially when people were refering this to Hellboy without the Hellboy, because it’s just the aquatic creature.
What made me stay for the movie were the witty words of Richard Jenkins’ character, the villainy of Michael Shannon’s, and lastly, the fact that Sally Hawkins plays a character who doesn’t speak.

Here’s a the thing when you have a character like that. It creates a different way of interacting with everything, not too disimilar to something like a Jacques Tati or the early non-speaking movies.
Ultimately, it creates a personality, and you know the people around the main character also have a personality, because nobody bland, boring, or unhelpful would be around someone like this.

And another thing, people can relate to her. I relate to her. You don’t have to make a movie with every character being a different colour, shape, or gender, you just have to make a well written movie.

Ultimately, this is a great love story that I’d recommend anyone watch, if they’re so inclined towards something interesting.

P.S. And you can learn something new, too.
